This has been a very long week as the indoor season came to a head for my athletes, with championships and last chance meets. Overall, my athletes competed well and I think we have a good base heading into outdoor. My personal training this week was not ideal, but I was able to get most of my training completed this week including two short throwing sessions. Training this week broke down like this:
|Training Week of February 11, 2018/Week 3 of Windler’s Cycle|
|Sunday 02/11||Monday 02/12||Tuesday 02/13||Wednesday 02/14||Thursday 02/15||Friday 02/16||Saturday 02/17|
|Squat/ Power Clean Workout||Shot Put Sessions||Bench Workout||Deadlift/ Snatch Workout, Shot Put Session|
|1 hours||.75 Hours||1 Hours||1.75 Hour|
|Total Hours||4.5 Hours|
As one can see I did not get my 4th lifting day in this week. Due to time constraints and my left elbow still giving me problems I did not get my incline workout in this week. During the de-load week this coming week I am really going to need to work on some of these areas that have been causing issues. Despite being pretty beat-up I was able to post some good numbers on my AMRAP sets.

At this point I can definitely say I am in uncharted water, in that I have never done this kind of weight for the amount of reps I have been recently. This is the strongest I have ever felt, I just need to take care of myself a little better, so I can continue to keep making progress. I still have a long ways to go in the weight room to gain the strength to compete at the national level in the shot put.
I am looking forward to next week. I should have some more free time and hopefully be able to get outside and throw several times next week in preparation for my meet on Sunday. I am not sure how I will do at the meet, because I haven’t been able to throw much the past couple months. However, I am excited to see where I am at and it will be nice to get in the ring and have some fun after a long couple months.
Not Great but Getting Better
